Tihamér Hlavacsek,
piano
Born in 1977, graduated from the Béla Bartók Musical Conservatory and
the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. His teachers included
important Hungarian masters like Mária Koppány, Enikô Lôte, Zoltán
Benkô, Sándor Falvai, István Gulyás and Sándor Devich. Currently he is
attending Yale University and studies with Professor Peter Frankl. He
also studied with András Schiff, Lev Naumov, Zoltán Kocsis and several
other important piano personalities. Hlavacsek was the winner of
several compe-titions, the most important are the "Leo Weiner" for
Chamber Music in 1997, the "Gandolfi" international Piano in Italy in
1999 and the "Stefano Marizza" International Piano in 2002. He
performed throughout Europe, Scandinavia, and in the USA. As a
participant in several festivals in Hungary and abroad, Hlavacsek has
appeared in radio and TV programs and has recorded several CDs. This
young artist is considered to be one of most promising of his
generation from Hungary. (HCC) |
